Some people found that Bali to be completely overrun with tourists especially in the South Bali. We are thinking the same way but we love Bali no matter what, that s the reason we could handle that (sometimes) chaos atmospher.
During our last trip to Bali, we were thinking to explore another area in Bali, somewhere we never been, somewhere with chilled out vibe with less touts and tourists, and only from that reason we were considered to give Nusa Lembongan a visit.
Nusa Lembongan (in Indonesian language, Nusa means Island) is situated off the coast from Sanur in southern Bali. We reached Nusa Lembongan by a short boat ride from Serangan Beach Port with Equator Fast Cruise, and in just about thirty minutes our feet already sinking into the island’s white soft sand.
Our imago about Nusa Lembongan was correct, we could find Bali in Lembongan in the smaller scale and crowd, prime spot for doing some water sport, low key beaches, serenity and authentic. If only we have few days more longer to stay in this island, but we made a promise to ourself to return one day, and next time will be for a several days.
During our short stay, we managed to do a fair bit of exploring, we just didnt want to miss a thing. We wandered along the full west coast of the island and our first stop was Dream Beach. We had heard that this beach was a must do while visiting Lembongan. The name has it all, absolutely a beautiful beach with white sands, crystal clear water and it s surrounded by cliffs.

Not far from Dream Beach, a quick must see is The Devil’s Tear. It sounds mysterious and in fact it looks mysterious, at least for me. The Devil’s Tear is where you can watch the waves crash against the rocks and turn into mist, sort of presentation of the power of mother nature. Never see this kind of natural attraction like this before.
The Devil’s Tear is a perfect spot to have a timelapse shots.

Nusa Lembongan is also well known for their sea weed plantation, one of the local most income, we found a lot ot those plantation around in the island, they grow tons of it and they mainly use it to export to Japan for consumption and the cosmetics industry.

Nusa Lembongan is not only about beach, sea and water sport, they also have a mangrove forest. The mangroves cover a large area of Nusa Lembongan and as an important part of the local ecosystem, they are certainly worth a visit. However personally we have seen many mangrove forests during our journey in the past, so we are not really into join the mangrove tour this time due our limited time in Lembongan.

From this trip to Nusa Lembongan, we learned that Bali has so many other sides to offer and on Nusa Lembongan you will see a dramatically different one, something that deal with peaceful, quiet, natural beauty.
Where we stayed in Nusa Lembongan :
There are plenty places to stay at Nusa Lembongan, depending on the area you choose, budget and comfort.
We prefer to stay at one of Lembongan resort and chose to stay in Lembongan Beach Club.
