The Hotel
I dare myself to describe Alila Manggis in 3 words : Sublime, Elegant, Refined.
From the moment we arrived at the Alila Manggis, by immediate we felt the calmness, serenity, and a peacefulness, the real experience of East Bali.
It started from the check in process, no hustle and bustle – the most smooth check in process ever - while the receptionist registered our data we could enjoyed our welcome drink in the lounge, cold towel and face mist, such a sweet gesture of welcome.

Location
Located on a tranquil Bali’s East Coast, about 75 kilometers from the Ngurah Rai International Airport. Manggis is an area between Padang Bai Harbor ( if you want to continue your trip to Lombok Island) and Candidasa, the perfect location for a relaxation seekers and for those who want to see the real Bali.

The Staffs
The staffs of Alila Manggis must have a real secret how to make of every stay full of happiness, their service at all levels was perfect. They know how to take care of all details to turn our stay in truly unique.
Our Room & The Bathroom
During our stay, we enjoyed our room so much, we stayed in the deluxe room on the upper level with a direct view to the pool and some sea view.
The room was spacious, deeply comfortable and well maintained, it had all the amenities which we expect of an Alila.
My favorite part was the daybed lounge in the balcony where I could spot on the pool and open sky.

Breakfast and Dining
Breakfast was amazing and not a buffet style, every morning we tried different dish and all the dishes we tried was done to perfection. We could choose to sit anywhere, my fave breakie spot was the one exactly in the front beach, a glass of orange juice wont taste the same again.

During dinner time, located in the Seasalt Restaurant, we decided to have their signature dish : Balinese Megibung, the F&B Manager explained intensively that this dish is only found in East Bali and some part of Lombok, it s a unique way of sharing food with friends and family during village festivals. And as always, all of the dishes in Alila Manggis never let us down.

The Pool & Daily Activities
Days at Alila Manggis are filled with activities and regeneration, we were so eager beaver to try them all if only our time is more flexible. So glad we did Yoga by the sea on one afternoon, organized by Alila for all the guests free of charge, it turned out to be our first yoga experience in our life.
We spent our days by joining few programs too such as 'a chasing sunrise by the boat' (review about this program - click here )
Afternoon High Tea
As an Indonesian living in Europe, I wont missed the daily afternoon high tea by the pool. They served a traditional snacks and cup of herbal teas mixed of ginger, cinnamon, honey, lemon grass. Flavourful.
The whole experience was simply flawless that everywhere I look I am amazed by the thoughtfulness of every details. I m the guest of Alila Manggis Hotel but that in no way affected my opinion of the hotel or my stay.
